5 Facebook Contests That You Can Run In 5 Minutes

Running a social media contest is the best way to engage, grow your community and more importantly, reward your awesome members for being part of your business’ Facebook page.

If you have leftover inventory from last season, why not throw them in as prizes for a Facebook contest? While there are many ways to run a contest, there are also tactics that are so simple, you can implement them in less than 5 minutes—perfect for the busy business owner like you:

1. Like To Win

Want to quickly reward fans for being active community members? Then, the “Like To Win” contest is the easiest one to run—and it receives a lot of participation because it requires minimal effort!

As the name suggests, fans only need to “Like” a certain post to enter the contest and stand a chance of winning. Photos, status posts, links & videos can be used for this initiative.

2. Comment To Win

How about taking the “Like To Win” a level higher by making community members “Comment To Win”? There are a couple of variations that can be applied to this:

– Fans must “leave a comment” in order to participate
– They must answer a question, for example: “What is your favorite among our product line and why?” Best comment wins their product of choice!

3. Caption Contest

This is perhaps one of our favorite contests to run. Caption contests are very popular and it brings out the fun and creative side of people. All you need to do is place a simple photo and ask community members to put a caption on the comment box.

You can either pick the winner yourself or, ask the community to like the best caption/entry and the one with the most likes wins!

4. Fill-In-The-Blank-Contest

This is so simple and fun to run. All you need to do is put an incomplete sentence and ask your community members to complete it. For example: “I love eating at Lotus Restaurant because ________________.” The best entry wins the prize!

5. Q&A Contest

Another awesome and simple contest to run is the Q&A. This can be done in numerous ways—for example, asking fans a simple question and getting them to submit the right answer. You can then pick the winner randomly.

Additional Tip: You also have the option of asking a question and providing multiple choices (A, B, C, etc).

You can drive a huge amount of engagement through Facebook contests—it just takes a bit of effort and planning.
